HEY, we have BIG NEWS!!
As you may have heard, two weeks ago we were honored to be named as one of Bon Appetit’s 50 nominees for BEST New Restaurants in 2019 IN.THE.NATION!
THIS WEEK you can find a Bon Appetit ARTICLE in their October 2019 Issue featuring ALEPPO SWEETS! It’s a lovely, creative article and tells our story in a unique way. One of my favorite parts in writer Priya Krishna’s article is her observation about YOUSSEF and how he can’t sit still — IT’S SO TRUE! When I first met the Akhtarini’s (Sandy typing) it was very obvious that Youssef was not going to sit at home, locked inside nervous about speaking English and his new surroundings*. He is an industrious, natural entrepreneur who truly loves his work and loves working hard. When there is a line to the door and order tickets are lined up all along the shelf, he gets a certain twinkle in his eye.
The Bon Appetit article’s main mission was to feature our BAKLAVA, which is a great opportunity for us! WE SHIP BAKLAVA across the country! We want to grow our BAKLAVA SHIPPING BUSINESS. CLICK HERE TO ORDER/SHIP OUR BAKLAVA ONLINE.

Would you like to do SOMETHING BIG for the Akhtarini Family that takes a SMALL amount of time? Forward this to your friends and family members across the country! Tell them how AMAZING Youssef’s baklava is! And maybe one day we will have the business to open a commissary right here in Lil’ Rhody, a little state with big arms opened wide to refugees, immigrants, and creators of all kinds. As Youssef would say “Inshallah”, God Willing.
You can read the more expanded online version of the Bon Appetit article HERE.
Peace & Love,
Sandy, Youssef & Reem
